Goals

A Goal is a persistent, multi-day study commitment — “pass Step 1 in three months”, “master cardiology by the end of the month” — rather than a single request. It is where KoiSwarm remembers the outcome you are working toward, keeps a deadline and scope on file, and turns that commitment into work you can do today.

Goals are in beta. The feature is available in the workspace and through SuperAgent, but its wording, surfaces and limits may change.

  1. State the commitment. Tell SuperAgent what you want to achieve and, when you know them, the deadline, exam format and how much time you can give each week.
  2. Answer the clarifying questions. KoiSwarm asks for the details it cannot safely guess — the exam date, the material scope, the assessment format and what “done” looks like.
  3. Review the contract. KoiSwarm proposes a contract: the outcome, scope, deadline, weekly minutes and a measurable success criterion.
  4. Approve it. On approval the Goal is saved, and the scheduler turns it into a plan of daily tasks.

An approved Goal becomes the input to Planning, which runs underneath. Planning reads the Goal’s scope, deadline and weekly minutes, extracts the examinable topics from your materials, and produces a continuous, feasible plan of daily tasks. Each task is tagged to the specialist that should do it — USMLE, MCQ, SAQ, Labelling or review — so the plan reads as “do this today” rather than “study everything eventually”.

A Goal’s progress is measured from your actual practice, not from self-reporting. When you complete a specialist task, that result is recorded as evidence for the Goal. The scheduler uses that evidence — along with your available time — to decide what comes next, so the plan follows your real position rather than a fixed timetable.

Some changes are material enough that KoiSwarm asks for your approval before applying them:

  • changing the deadline or success criterion;
  • removing scope;
  • reducing the time available;
  • any replan that would otherwise exceed what your schedule can fit.

Minor adjustments — a new file, a small scope addition, a day-to-day reshuffle — are applied automatically, and only touch future days: completed work and past days are never rewritten.

Keep the deadline, scope and weekly minutes honest, and do the practice inside the same workspace so the evidence KoiSwarm learns from is yours. A Goal produces a working plan; it does not promise the exam result. Review important clinical material against authoritative sources.
